Improved Know-How in Water Law
The water law is a constant companion in our daily work day. A solid and sound knowledge about it is the basic prerequisite for the high-quality processing of projects.
In order to improve the know-how in this area, our co-worker Johannes Roither participated in the course “The ABC of Water Law“; hosted by the Austrian Water and Waste Management Association (ÖWAV) in Salzburg on 12 October 2016.
The course gave the participants a legal basic knowledge in the field of water law. The main focus was on the discussion of the basic principles of water management procedures and the the important facts for approval of the water law. A special highlight was a workshop on the approval procedure from the perspective of a practitioner.
Exciting findings can be taken home:
- the possibility of involving the water management planning body already prior to the approval procedure, and
- the handling of the deterioration prohibition according to the “Weser Judgment”.
By means of practical tips from the lecturers, RIOCOM will be able to handle water law procedures in the future even better and in a more targeted manner.
