Vision
To us, Flowing Competence means to cover the entire spectrum of engineering services in and around rivers in the field of water management. Aspects of risks are always an integral component. RIOCOM combines technical know-how with innovative working practices and distinctive communication skills.

Thus, we raise our services and products onto a new level of quality. This means to broaden our horizon when it comes to competencies and to develop them dynamically. Our guiding principle implies to be open to all possibilities along the river and to seize new chances for the enlargement of our range.

2001 Founding
Albert Schwingshandl founds RIOCOM as sole proprietorship and starts with projects in the field of renaturation at the March. The first office is an ancient barber shop in Ottakring, Vienna.

2004 First employees
Three employees are hired. We enter the phase of 2D modeling of floods. .

2006 First time moving
RIOCOM moves into a 180 m2 office. We count 7 people in the office and move to the 7th district of Vienna.

2009 nomination for the national award
Our flood emergency plans are nominated for the national award for engineering consulting in 2009.

2012 Riocom goes Rivergate
The team of 12 moves to a new building: the RIVERGATE Office Centre next to the Danube.

2013 New regional office in Graz
We open a new office within the Rondo Office Centre in Graz. So we take our know-how to the South of Austria and to neighbouring countries.

2015 Cooperation with VRVIS
RIOCOM becomes partner of VRVIS, research center for visual computing. Together, we develop Visdom, a software to simulate floods.
