Revitalisation of the Zwerndorfer river bank
In the winter of 2021 to 2022, the time had finally come: the banks of the Morava River were renaturalized over a length of 700 meters. For this purpose, the rip rap was removed from the river bank by excavator and truck and taken to Rabensburg – where the armoring stones can be reused for another renaturation project.
The bank revitalisation on the Zwerndorf river bank created a continuous unsecured river bank of more than 2 kilometers – this is unique on the Austrian-Slovakian border stretch.
Our two employees Johannes Roither and Thomas Huber accompanied the construction works as construction survey.
We hope that this bank reclamation will serve as an initial spark for further renaturation of the Morava River.
