Some of these structures have been separating the Danube&#8217;s main river from its tributaries for over 150 years and are partly covered by several metres of fine sand that the Danube has deposited here.<\/p>\n<p>Within the project, a dynamically flowing floodplain landscape shall be restored and the Danube shall be freed from its tight corset a little.
