The planning was conducted from 2012 to 2013 taking into account the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of a new river meander and of the river continuity through renaturation of a bed sill<\/li>\n<li>Design of the existing Antiesen channel as flood channel.<\/li>\n<li>Improvement of the morphology by expanding and structuring the banks and increasing the variability of the cross profile formations.<\/li>\n<li>Protecting of existing and promoting new characteristically riparian woodland.<\/li>\n<li>Lowering of the forelands for the creation of new wetlands and secondary flood plains.<\/li>\n<li>Best possible integration of leisure and recreational use and the improvement of the accessibility of the waterfront.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The construction measures of the approximately 350m long section, were implemented by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.land-oberoesterreich.gv.at\/132031.htm\">Gew\u00e4sserbezirk Braunau<\/a> from spring to winter 2015. This institution has also accompanied the planning stage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Around one year later, we have visited the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meinbezirk.at\/ried\/lokales\/renaturierung-der-antiesen-wird-fortgesetzt-d1327493.html\">renaturation project<\/a> and are thrilled about the dynamic development of the river.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are glad, not only have contributed to the implementation of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.umweltbundesamt.at\/umweltsituation\/wasser\/eu-wrrl\/\">EU Water Framework Directive<\/a> to achieve a &#8220;<strong>good ecological status<\/strong>&#8220;, but also to have helped the Antiesen to meander again.<\/p>\n<!-- Final Tiles Grid Gallery for WordPress v3.3.14
