First application of VISDOM in disaster control

After a long preparation period, the development of disaster protection plans flood for the Donau-Marchfeld water board officially started on November 21, 2016. We started the project with an information event and a joint meeting of all stakeholders.

We were happy to welcome key players from the following institutions:

• the department “Fire brigade and civil defense” of the Regional Government of Lower Austria
• the district fire brigade commando Gaenserndorf
• the Danube – Marchfeld Water Board, and
• the nine affected communities (Gross-Enzersdorf, Andlersdorf, Mannsdorf an der Donau, Orth an der Donau, Haringsee, Eckartsau, Lassee, Engelhartstetten and Marchegg)

In the course of this project, the software Visdom will be used for the first time. This provides new tools and possibilities for modelling, visualization and measures analysis.
